Medisch student Benedict Bagena

Dear members of the board of Vledder Helpt...,
I hope you are doing perfectly fine and had a lovely weekend.
I am doing well too, came to a succesful end of my time on the psychiatry ward after six weeks on friday. We were subjected to a theory paper in the morning which was an hour long and it covered all the things we have seen and learnt on the ward, it went really well and I am looking ahead with optimism for excellent results. Later in the afternoon, we did the practical paper where I was given a patient to clerk diagnose and present to the examiners, my patient had substance induced psychosis as he had consumed alcohol and cannabis that lead to his admission in the mental health unit, it was really interesting for me to listen to him with the examiners and explain to them his problem and how I would manage him, it really went well for me.
All I can say is that I look back at the six amazing weeks I have spent on the psychiatry ward and it makes me really respect and want to help those with mental illnesses as they are normal people like us, I have been able to see patients diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Mania, Depression, Substance induced psychosis, stress disorder, personality disorders etc,, and this has chaged my attitude towards those with mental illneses. It was indeed a very educative and challenging experience.
The next ward I go to is the Obstetrics and Gynaecology, I can't wait to go embrace and help the people who bear us for months and bring us into this world.
Once again, thank you very much for your love and continued support towards the achievement of my dream, I am wishing you the outmost blessings, good health and success in all you endavours.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Best regards
Benedict
